Download PDF1. Liberia Maritime Administration has issued Marine Advisory No. 38/2023 providing revised requirements in respect of LRIT. Specifically, the requirements for Conformance Testing of LRIT has been revised taking into account IMO Assembly Resolution A. 1192 (33).
2. As per the revised requirement, commencing 01 April 2024, all Conformance Test Reports will be issued with validity not exceeding twelve (12) months from the conformance test completion date.
3. Accordingly, wef 1 April 2024, the annual conformance test will be required to be conducted annually based on the anniversary date of the last conformance test.
4. Below table provides examples for due dates of annual conformance test based on the completion date of last conformance test.

5. All conformance tests will be conducted directly by the Liberian Administration Authorized Testing Application Service Provider (ASP) through the dedicated online portal as per details below.

For information on recognized maritime mobile satellite service ship earth station models, contact the Recognized ASP or the equipment manufacturer to determine suitability for LRIT.
7. For Inmarsat C shipborne equipment, if the equipment appears to be LRIT capable, the following steps to be taken: Contact the manufacturer to confirm that the shipborne equipment has current software/firmware versions; and Ensure that Polling & Data Reporting (PDR) functions are enabled; and Ensure that Macro Encoded Message 11 (MEM-11) is enabled.
8. For Iridium shipborne equipment, all models listed are suitable for LRIT without further configuration.
9. Owners/operators and masters of Liberian flagged vessels are advised to be guided by above and ensure compliance.
