1. The final date for compliance with D-2 standard ((installation of Ballast Water Management System (BWMS)) of the “International Convention for the Control and Management of Ship’s Ballast Water and Sediments, 2004” for all applicable vessels (including vessels of less than 400 GT and Oil Tankers of less than 150 GT constructed before 8 September 2017 and entitled to carry Ballast Water) is not later than 08 September 2024.

2. In view of above, Managers and Owners of vessels, that have yet to comply with the D-2 requirements, are advised to take immediate actions in order to ensure full compliance with the IMO regulations.

3. In this regard, Comoros Maritime Administration has informed that beyond the final date (08 September 2024), Administration may not grant any extension towards installation of BWMS.

4. Owners/managers and masters of vessels to which IBWM Convention apply, are advised to be guided by above and ensure compliance.
