Download PDF- GOI has vide Merchant Shipping Notice no.02of 2017 dated 17.02.2017 clarified to read clause c) of paragraph 9 of Annexure -1A (DMLC Part I) of M.S Notice 16 of 2016 as under
“Recreation facilities including but not limited to television, showing of films, magazine, sports equipments, internet & e-mail facilities , Library etc, shall be provided onboard ships at no cost to seafarers. The seafarers shall be provided reasonable access to ship to shore telephone communications, where available, with any charge for use of the service, being reasonable in amount.”
- The amendment to above clause clarifies that ship to shore telephone communications, where available will be provided by ship owner at reasonable charges.
