Irclass academy delivers five-day executive management course in Ship superintendency

IRClass Academy delivered a five-day, ‘Executive Management Course in Ship Superintendency’ from 11 to 15 July 2017. Participants in the five-day course included serving superintendents wishing to upgrade their knowledge and understanding of upcoming regulations. In fact, the course addressed three distinct areas of learning that drive ship operations:

  • Regulatory changes
  • Technology updates
  • Commercial aspects

The course design was modular, providing the participants with the option of undergoing  one or more days of learning at a time – at their convenience:

Day-1: Ship Surveys & Certificates

Day-2: Commercial aspects of Shipping

Day-3: Hull Inspection (Bulk Carriers & Tankers)

Day-4: Managing Drydocking

Day-5: Workshop on Techno-commercial aspects of Ship Operations

Faculty for course comprised highly experienced surveyors of IRClass, supplemented by external Subject Matter Experts – who are also practising senior managers from their respective fields. Consequently, the case studies presented and the interactions that followed were highly relevant and contemporary.

The way the course was structured as well as the contents and the delivery mode were highly appreciated by all participants.

Once again, IRClass Academy has demonstrated its commitment to facilitate transition of seafarers into shore-based managerial roles, where no structured training currently exists. This particular course also benefited serving superintendents – as evident from the feedback received – in updating their knowledge and understanding of some of the contemporary issues faced by them.
